Travel photography South Africa

Travel photography from South Africa, shot in 1997 on slidefilm. This was my first trip outside Europe. We flew into Johannesburg and rented a car (a VW city produced in South Africa). We first drove to Kruger National Park, and after that we drove to Durban. In Port Elizabeth I got robbed by 3 guys with there 2 large knifes. We ended our trip with a long train ride from Cape Town back to Johannesburg. South Africa is a nice country with great wildlife, but it’s not always safe.

Years later I visited Namibia, Botswana and Victoria falls in Zimbabwe. If you would like to see wildlife in Africa and that is your main reason to go the Africa, than my advise is to bring a visit to Botswana. That is a pretty safe country to travel in and it has some great nature and wildlife. Botswana has the largest elephant population in the world with over 130.000 elephants.
